Ornaments on Etsy
For the 2022 holiday season, a limited run of Brooklyn Ornaments were offered for sale on Etsy. These Snowflake Ornaments were based off the Park Slope Blizzard painting series. I plan to create additional quantities for upcoming holiday seasons.
Creating the Ornaments
Ornaments are created using a process called sublimation printing. After I finalize each design, the sublimation is done offsite at a vendor. The metal snowflakes are prepared to accept the printed image. A special paper, printer and ink is used to make the image and a heat press is used to transfer the image to the paintings. The final step is spray painting the snowflakes a shimmery silver for extra sparkle.
