Maparaju

In the summer of 2013, I joined the American Science Climber Program to climb mountains in the Cordillera Blanca of Peru and to assist with collecting data about the local vegetation, fauna and pollution. These paintings were made of an early morning climb to the peak of Maparaju, over 17000ft in elevation. The images were based by my experiences during the climb as well as photographs from the American Climber Science Program, especially those of photographer Clinton Lewis.
